Pasadena’s Dog Haus Unleashed in Canoga Park

There’s a new dog in town—hot dog, that is—and it is bringing a slew of creative sausages, burgers and brew along for the ride. Dog Haus, which originated in Pasadena in 2010, just opened its fourth location (and first franchise) at 6501 Topanga Blvd. in Canoga Park this past weekend. The fast-casual concept of this new, 2,700-square-foot space is an order-at-the-counter place with seating at both communal tables and smaller tables. This is the first in what is hoped to become a chain of 50 franchises. The menu selections feature all-beef, skinless hot dogs, sausages, burgers, grilled cheese and corndogs.  Choose from their signature creations or build your own with more than 40 toppings. Some of the most popular sandwiches include: Sooo...

A Sushi Fix That Won’t Dent Your Wallet

A slim menu is filled with only the highest quality, melt-in-your-mouth fish. No chicken teriyaki or fake crab...

Cycle of Danger

Cycle of Danger

Biking fatalities in the Valley are up—way up. There were more than four times as many people killed last year as in 2012. One of those fatalities struck home with Ventura Blvd; the father of one of our 2013 Top Teens, who became a summer intern, was killed in a hit-and-run. Here we take an in-depth look at the hazards of biking and what cyclists and motorists can do to prevent catastrophe.
