Loteria Grill: It’s kind of like a Cinco de Mayo celebration every Tuesday at Loteria Grill, which is putting its own spin on Taco Tuesday with “Taco About Tuesdays,” featuring tacos served family-style along with the $5 Margarita Feliz. It’s a “create-your-own taco” theme, with the taco specials placed in on the center of the table so everyone can make their own tacos. Each dish serves six to eight people. Executive chef/owner Jimmy Shaw says he developed this concept as "more than just an invitation to a typical version of a taco; it’s to 'echarse unos tacos' with friends, meaning to gather in a group setting and enjoy delicious tacos, drinks and conversation." Prices range from $11 to $14. 12050 Ventura Blvd., Studio City
Ceremony: This newly opened restaurant is celebrating Cinco de Mayo in a big way beginning with the launch of the new brunch and lunch menu (11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., plus the taco bus inside the restaurant will serve tacos all day). And just for Cinco de Mayo, imbibe in $10 bottomless sangria and mimosas from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mix this deal up with happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m. and receive 25% of your entire bill. A live mariachi band will play from 6 to 8 p.m. 11814 Ventura Blvd., Studio City
Mercado Hollywood: Located on the edge of Studio City, this modern Mexican restaurant is featuring food and drink specials along with the regular menu from 4 to 11 p.m.: margaritas from $7 to $12, including a featured cocktail just for Cinco de Mayo and a shot of Senda Real Reposada for $7; guacamole, choriqueso, tamales, carnitas tacos (above), gringas and nachos are $6 to $10. 3413 Cahuenga Blvd. West., Los Angeles
Public School 818: This new Sherman Oaks restaurant/bar is offering a special dish, cocktail and ale for fiesta time—chicken adobo nachos (above): chicken piled with cheese, poblano sauce, lime crema and queso fresco ($8); the Dos Veces cocktail: Corralejo Blanco tequila, watermelon juice, house-made vanilla bitters, lavender bitters and a paprika/pepper rim ($8); The Bruery’s Or Xata: a spiced blonde ale on tap ($11). 15300 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks
Sol y Luna: Located on Ventura Boulevard in Tarzana, Sol y Luna feels like an eatery you might stumble upon in Mexico with Mexican statues, artwork and twinkle lights. On Cinco de Mayo music will play from noon to 4 p.m., while mariachis will stroll from 4 to 8 p.m. Cazadores Tequila will be handing out free promo goods. 19601 Ventura Blvd., Tarzana
