You’d be hard pressed to find another spot, well, anywhere in this city, where you can dig into vigorous moles boasting the likes of pumpkin, white chocolate with wine, and tequila.  Tarzana’s Rocio’s Moles de Los Disoses, however, has dreamt up such a thing, also serving moles concocted from passion fruit, pistachio, coffee beans, and sunflower seeds.  There are traditional moles, too, the kind that chef Rocio Camacho must labor over—with 31 ingredients and a whole lot of tradition.  You’ll want to try them all, so here’s the secret:  Rocio’s offers a mole sampler that’s not on the printed menu.  But we’ve got you covered.  Simply ask your waiter, and select your five choices.  They come served with handmade corn tortillas—warm pillows in a vibrant shade of green.  Mole is one of those dishes you’d never attempt to cook yourself, but luckily with Rocio's, you don't have to.

Rocio’s Moles de Los Dioses, 19321 Ventura Blvd., Tarzana, CA 91356. (818) 457-4545.
