Top Doctors & Health Care Pros

The Cohen Outpatient Surgery Center is an AAAASF-accredited, state-of-the-art medical facility in the heart of Encino. Owner Andrew T. Cohen, MD, Alana Brager, RN, BSN, and the medical staff offer comprehensive plastic surgery care as well as nonsurgical treatments and injectables. The goal of the team is to provide impeccable customer service, a safe environment and complete patient confidentiality.

Why is it important to develop healthy habits before undergoing plastic surgery?

All surgery results are made better when we take care of our skin and our overall health. Prior to surgery, focusing on overall health allows you to get the most out of your surgical investment.

Tell us about your nonsurgical options.

Nonsurgical options for skin tightening and resurfacing have come a long way in the 22 years that Dr. Cohen has been in practice. On a weekly basis, he tests new devices and lasers that promise results. We advise that many of these treatments be done in a series of three for maximum results. The real results happen in between treatments as you build collagen. Each treatment plan starts with a visit with Dr. Cohen and nurse Alana to evaluate the patient’s overall health and what they are looking to achieve.

Tell us about some of your favorite treatments.

Laser Genesis helps with fine lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores, melasma and rosacea. It stimulates collagen, helps decrease active acne and targets bacteria on the skin. It can be done monthly with no downtime.

LimeLight (IPL) helps with sun damage, hyperpigmentation and rosacea and boosts collagen production. It can be done monthly with minimal downtime.

Genius radiofrequency microneedling helps with fine lines, wrinkles and scarring. It stimulates collagen and helps lift and tighten the skin. We recommend doing three treatments with four to six weeks in between.

Skin Pen microneedling with exosomes targets fine lines, wrinkles, skin texture, enlarged pores, scars and pigmentation by using small needles that create microchannels in the skin. This helps stimulate collagen and elastin while improving overall skin texture and appearance.

DEKA DOT (dermal optical thermolysis) is a fractional CO2 laser system that can rejuvenate the skin by stimulating new collagen production. During this skin resurfacing treatment, the advanced laser creates microscopic channels in the skin, leaving a pattern of tiny wounds that alert the body’s natural healing process. This can be done under local anesthesia or at a deeper level under full anesthesia. It is often paired with a face-lift surgery.
