If you’ve waited in line at Sherman Oaks’ Blu Jam Café, you know how popular it is for breakfast and lunch. Once a month, owner/chef Kamil Majer turns out a special, private, five-course dinner at either his Melrose or Ventura Boulevard location.
This month the dinner will be held in Sherman Oaks on Friday, April 18, with seating reserved between 7 and 8 p.m. Look for a seasonal menu with golden baby beets, cauliflower “veloute,” sea bass, prime beef and panna cotta with mint cream and berries. For the full menu, click here to the Blu Jam website. For reservations, email reservations@blujamcafe.com. The price is $49.95 per person plus tax and 18% gratuity.
Tuning Fork Gastropub in Studio City is having their first wine pairing dinner (four courses and an amuse) on April 23 at 7 p.m. in honor of Earth Day. It’s described as a “deliciously groovy celebration.”
The menu will be created by Chef Jay Bedassie. Look for quail, venison, California cheeses and a hazelnut baklava. Check out the menu on their Facebook page. Featured wines are from Semler and Saddlerock Wines of Malibu. The price is $65 person, including tax and wine with each course. For more info, call 818-623-0734.
