Tired of FroYo? Try North Pole Snow Cream

Light milk ice cream shaved into fluff provides a different kind of summer cool.

With all this weirdly hot and humid weather, The Sauce has become obsessed with ice-cold sweets. My most recent frosty foray was to taste-test North Pole Snow Cream, a feathery frozen treat that lives in an enchanted world somewhere between ice cream and shaved ice.

We're told that Snow Cream is made by shaving a light ice cream made with 2% milk into a lovely pile of fluff. Joining vanilla and chocolate are outside-the-cone choices including green tea, black sesame and horchata (non-diary choices available too). And of course an array of toppings and "drizzles" worthy of any SoCal FroYo bar. My own creation (below) included mango and cheesecake Snow Cream, Oreo cookies, strawberries, blueberries and caramel drizzle.

We are less thrilled with the Snow Burger, which sandwiches your delicate Snow Cream plus extras between layers of sweet Hawaiian bread. Two textures that don't seem to go together.
