Ice Cream Studio City

Bingo Milk Bar Becomes Studio City Soft Serve and Beverage Destination

Fashion industry veteran Casey Yoon opened stylish Bingo Milk Bar in Studio City, serving soft serve ice cream and a wide array of beverages.

Bingo Milk Bar is a trendy new Studio City dessert and beverage shop that owner Casey Yoon named for bingsoo (Korean shaved ice), though the menu delves far deeper.

Bingo’s menu features creative soft serve preparations, coffee, fruit, and tea drinks. They do have a bingsoo machine, but it was out of service during my visit, so my thoughts on their shaved snow will have to wait.

I did enjoy their soft serve. Bingo churns four flavors, with swirls available for either milk & matcha or pink cotton candy & salted caramel. Add an earthy house-made charcoal waffle cone or cup for $1.25. Toppings include options like Graham cracker crumbs, rainbow sprinkles, and chocolate-dipped Pocky (Japanese cookie sticks).

Blended drinks are also a big deal here. Their hibiscus strawberry slush and coconut smoothie is one of more than 20 non-dairy versions. They also feature ice-blended Bingccino, Casey’s take on a Frappuccino, in flavors like cotton candy, mint chocolate, and vanilla latte (with espresso). Boba is also available in any cup.

A white La Marzocco espresso machine and cold brew fuel a La Colombe coffee program.

Casey previously worked in fashion for 15 years, but was ready for a change, and since Amazon was putting the squeeze on, he switched to a more flavorful career.

The strip mall space features an orange and white color scheme. A mural on a white wall depicts iconic L.A. images including the Santa Monica Pier roller coaster with a ferris wheel that reads “Life is sweet.” At Bingo, that’s certainly the case.
